We are the only dedicated Latin American green bond fund

We aim to generate risk-mitigated returns for investors while supporting the growing green bond market in Latin America.

We do this by combining private and public capital to invest in green bond issuances. In turn, the issuers will invest in projects that mitigate the effects of climate change, limit biodiversity loss and create employment opportunities.

Meanwhile, our Advisory & Capacity Building services support new issuers coming to market and promote the highest impact standards, transparency and reporting.

The LAGreen Fund was initiated in 2021 by KfW with starting capital from German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) and the EU.

The Fund is managed by Finance in Motion.

Our governance

LAGreen’s governance is based on a solid foundation and transparent processes. LAGreen is set up as a SICAV-SIF under Luxembourg law, a proven vehicle for numerous impact investment funds.

Shareholders

The Fund’s shareholder base consists of public investors and development banks who contribute to the first- and second-loss tranches of our blended finance structure.

Portfolio Manager and Alternative Investment Fund Manager (AIFM)

Finance in Motion is the Portfolio Manager and AIFM for the LAGreen Fund.

As Portfolio Manager, Finance in Motion, a Luxembourg-based and licensed Alternative Investment Fund Manager, serves as the Fund’s implementing entity. It is responsible for designing and executing the Fund’s investment strategy, overseeing portfolio management and operations, and ensuring alignment with the Fund’s development mandate. Finance in Motion is the primary point of contact for both investors and investees. As the AIFM, Finance in Motion is responsible for all investment decisions.

Board of Directors

The Fund’s Board of Directors fulfil a supervisory role. It provides strategic guidance, approves investment and operational policies, and oversees the AIFM.
